Meppel Port Service

Meppel has two ports and several quays where commercial vessels can berth.

Port and quay fees need to be paid when a commercial vessel enters any of the following locations:

• Waiting Harbour (Wachthaven)
• Sethehaven
• The right-hand side of the Meppelerdiep between the Grote Kaap Bridge and the Galgenkamps Bridge (excluding the Agrifirm quay)
• Paradijs Quay (Paradijskade)

You also need to pay port fees if you only turn your vessel in the Waiting Harbour or Sethehaven.

Registration

Upon arrival in the port, you will receive a weekly permit.

Please note: If you leave the port and return to Meppel at a later date, a new week will begin. You will then receive a new weekly permit and a new tariff will apply.

Locations and Facilities

Accessibility
Meppel is accessible to vessels of up to approximately 3,000 tonnes. Regulations apply regarding the maximum permitted length, width, and draught of vessels. All dimensions are measured relative to the Amsterdam Ordnance Datum (NAP).

• Up to the Kaap Bridges: maximum length 110 m, beam 11.50 m, draught 3.25 m
• Up to the Galgenkamps Bridge: maximum length 110 m, beam 11.50 m, draught 2.75 m
• Private unloading quay at the Rogat industrial area: length 65 m, beam 7.30 m, draught 2.50 m

Water and electricity
Water and electricity are available in the Waiting Harbour. These services can easily be activated by scanning the QR code located on site.

Charges

The applicable port and quay fees can be found in the Municipality of Meppel Port Dues Ordinance 2026.

Invoices are sent either by email or by post to the address registered with us.
