Working together on the energy transition in regional ports

On Monday 16 March, three representatives visited ICC-PMM in Meppel at the initiative of Port of Zwolle. They have begun an inventory covering the ports of Meppel, Zwolle and Kampen. The aim is to gain insight into the needs and challenges surrounding the energy transition and to explore what we can learn from one another at a regional level.

The focus is on connecting. Port of Zwolle wants to bring entrepreneurs, municipalities and existing initiatives together and make successful approaches from other areas more widely applicable. In this way, we are jointly building a future-proof and accessible region.

In Meppel, a study has already been launched under the Regio Deal Zwolle project, in collaboration with PM Energie, focusing on Regie op Oevers A and B. The final report is expected shortly. This will be followed by a study covering Oevers C, D and E, providing a more complete picture of the sustainability measures and the significant steps that will need to be taken in the coming years in the field of the energy transition.
